Brace yourselves for a thrilling ride as we navigate through the stars, bargains, and hidden gems that could propel your FPL team to the pinnacle of success!

Goalkeepers

I can’t bring myself to bring in Kepa sadly, last season I did have Kepa for a large part of the second half of the season and I did reap some heavy rewards from that move. But I’ve not brought him into this list because he’s now set at £5.0 million which is more expensive than he was last season. Plus he’s also got a mistake in him, which isn’t exactly great when we’re talking about bringing in a goalkeeper.

I do think Chelsea will keep a good number of clean sheets however under new manager Mauricio Pochettino but with keepers like Onana and Ramsdale at the same price, I’d rather one of them.

Defenders

Ben Chilwell

Chilwell experienced quite a lot of time out on the sidelines last season and only managed 25 starts. However we’re quite pleased to see that is not the case this year and that makes this selection an interesting one. Despite not being available for starts for a long period of time he still managed to get 2 goals and provide 3 assists for teammates so we know he can also get the returns similar to teammate Reece James. I think this makes these full backs much more attractive than defenders like Van Dijk who don’t pose such a constant threat throughout the game.

Reece James / Malo Gusto

The Reece James and Malo Gusto combination is a nice looking strategy for the start of the season as it allows you to cover off any Reece James fitness issues as the games come thick and fast for Chelsea. Malo Gusto has been playing a large amount of minutes for Chelsea during pre season and you have to imagine that this will translate as they enter the first few gameweeks. One to keep an eye on as it’s the perfect combination of premium defenders and enabling defender too. Like Ben Chilwell, we know Reece James is just as good going forward as he is defending so we really hope he can maintain his fitness to rack up those returns like he has done in previous years.

Levi Colwill

If we can guarantee Levi Colwill is going to start regular games for Chelsea then I think Colwill will be a must own for managers. There’s no doubting that Colwill has serious ability and absolutely is good enough to be playing games for Chelsea following a fantastic Under 21 European Championships campaign with England.

Under new boss Pochettino, there’s never been a better opportunity to force himself up the pecking order for selection. Chelsea achieved 10 clean sheets in arguably their worst campaign in the Premier League era. You have to assume they can improve on that this season.

Midfielders

Raheem Sterling

If there’s one man that should thrive under the new regime then that should be Raheem Sterling, he’ll be absolutely guaranteed minutes in this new look Chelsea side. Despite what was such a poor campaign for Chelsea last season he still managed to bag 6 goals and 4 assists. We know what he can do in a good system and in this league, having scored more than 150 points in the last 5 campaigns before last season.

With Pochettino, wingers thrive under him, if you look at Heung Min-Son, Lucas Moura and even Kylian Mbappe who have all played some of their best football under him. He’s also £7.0 million which could also be a bargain should he hit the ground running. Chelsea also have a fantastic run of fixtures from GW3 onwards so you may even want to go for triple Chelsea.

Forwards

Christopher Nkunku

Following a huge money move from RB Leipzig this summer, Nkunku comes with a serious reputation on his hands. After finishing as the top scorer in the Bundesliga, Chelsea fans and FPL managers alike will be hoping that he can bring those goals to the Premier League as Chelsea look to recover from their 12th place finish last season.

He’s also £7.5 million which will be a rejoice for FPL managers, he’s probably guaranteed more minutes than his peers like Darwin Nünez, Cody Gakpo and Callum Wilson. I think he’ll be super advanced in the lineup playing a second striker role in the side meaning opportunities won’t be few and far between for the lad.

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson scored 12 goals last season and started to attract a whole host of suitors before signing on the dotted line for Chelsea this summer. To add to this, he looks like a really exciting player, and he’s made his way on this list because of his pre season with Chelsea. He’s scored 4 goals and registered 3 assists. Making him and absolute certified bagsman.

If you’re looking for an alternative to Nkunku within Chelsea then Jackson could be the best player to look for. He’s owned by 8.5% of managers compared to 10% more with Nkunku, he’s also £0.5 million less so if you need the difference to put out fires elsewhere within your team then Nicolas Jackson might just be the shrewdest purchase you can make for your team.
