Best Arsenal Fantasy Premier League Picks – 2023/24 Edition

Goalkeepers

The best Arsenal pick for this season in goal picks themselves, it’s obviously got to be Aaron Ramsdale, he’s now a stalwart in that goal and there’s no chance of him moving anytime soon.

Aaron Ramsdale

Ramsdale is in the side because he’s the first choice goalkeeper at Arsenal. But of course you already knew that… the reason he’s actually in here is because he is £5.0m. Which puts him above most in terms of price when compared to the rest of the league. However he’s not £5.5 million like Ederson, Alisson and Pope. So I don’t think there’s many better alternatives out there for when it comes to pound for pound FPL value. He registered 14 clean sheets last season and in that time picked up 94 saves and 9 bonus points. That’s a safe pair of hands if you’ll pardon the pun. Making Ramsdale a great Arsenal pick for your Fantasy Premier League team.

Defenders

The best Arsenal Fantasy Premier League picks in defence are probably the dictionary definition of “safe” as I have left out defenders like Ben White due to his huge price tag, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Tomayasu. So check out who I’ve mentioned below as my go to defenders if you’re looking for an Arsenal defender for the new season.

Gabriel & William Saliba

Owning one of Gabriel or Saliba kind of feels like a coin toss to decide which one to pick for the upcoming season. Both defenders are great and solid picks and are reliable to stay fit and rack up some needed points.

Before Saliba picked up his injury in the latter stages of last season he had the edge of Gabriel for average points per game with 4.3 compared to Gabriel’s 3.8 pts. So maybe Saliba edges the choice if you’re going to maximise points based on last season, however I’ve chosen Gabriel as a more assured option ahead of Gameweek 1. We don’t know the hangover Saliba’s injury might have had on his overall fitness.

Midfielders

The best Arsenal FPL picks in midfield are vast and to be honest, it’s been very hard to include all most all of them in this list but I’ve picked my favourite 2 and a half picks for the Fantasy Premier League season of 2023/24 below.

Bukayo Saka

The bottom line with Saka is as things currently stand, he’s the most nailed, easily as well. After a fantastic season and then an electric international break in the European Championship qualifiers. We’ll mention below that the rotation risk has never really felt higher at Arsenal and as we’ve shown already, Arsenal have some delicious fixtures coming up in the first 6 gameweeks, which is why managers will be considering the double or triple up on Arsenal players.

Gabriel Martinelli (£8.0 Million)

Martinelli is the next person to make his way into the midfielders bracket, receiving a hefty price rise from last season. I think Martinelli is worth having once again if Arsenal replicate their success on the pitch from 2022/23. The only thing that we will need to bare in mind with Martinelli is his risk of rotation will be significantly higher than last season. With the January addition of Leandro Trossard and the summer arrival of Kai Havertz, add that onto the demands of Champions League football then I’m not confident he’ll be as nailed as we hope. I could be very wrong there though, which would be quite welcomed from an FPL standpoint…

Kai Havertz… maybe…

I’m currently wondering whether to step on to the Kai Havertz hypetrain. He’s picked up a goal against the MLS All Stars in their 5-0 win, and I’m wondering if the investment that’s been shown from Arsenal to bring him will disrupt the midfield setup for Mikel Arteta. They’ll then have Saka, Trossard, Martinelli, Odegaard, Havertz, Rice, Jorginho as well as a handful others. The problem for Arteta is, they can’t all play at once. So if Havertz can nail down a starting spot in a more advanced role up the pitch then that would certainly catch my interest to consider him in my team. But for now, I’ve got Bukayo Saka because he’s currently the most nailed in the team and I can’t see that changing before Gameweek 1.

Forwards

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus is currently my favourite attacker pick in Fantasy Premier League for Arsenal this season. He was last season and not much has changed, but he’s still £8 million and he was racking up points prior to his injury halfway through the season that would see his season severely disrupted right until the end of the season.

In 24 starts in 2022/23 he racked up 11 goals and 7 assists, with 17 bonus points picked up along the way, that’s one serious return on investment and hopefully this year will be replicated by him at the start.
